REPLY Alex 5/15: The real multi thousand dollar alexandrite gem turns green in certain light.
If memory serves, these do not; at best a slate bluish greenish with sparks of purple pinks.
To get that beautiful green change you desire (other than the real $$$ gem or perhaps sultanite), some Swarovski color change crystals are superb and magical!
